I have been involved in the Building and Construction industry since I finished school. I first started out as an apprentice plant mechanic for my families company and I really enjoyed learning the business from the bottom and working my way up completing my apprenticeship and HNC before moving into a management position. My family sold Power Plant and Mack Hire and I moved on to find my own feet where I joined Hilti as a Technician repairing and maintaining all kinds of construction plant and equipment. I worked hard and advanced my career to become a senior member within the Glasgow team and then gained a further promotion into the sales team as a Specialist Building and Construction Account Manager. This role was very challenging and each day was very different, from dealing with complex technical queries, offering total service solutions to my customers within the Building and Construction industry, it was a very fast paced environment that I thrived in. Within this role I gained a vast amount of experience managing large customer's and projects and I had a traceable history of over achieving in a fast paced sales environment. I always went the extra mile to achieve customer and personal satisfaction. My time at Hilti seen me being a consistent performer and in Jan 2016 I received the top club of Europe sales award and this was one of my proudest accomplishments during my time at Hilti. Off the back of this I was promoted to Regional Manager for the building and construction team across the central belt of Scotland. This role seen me managing a diverse sales team of eight people and I was solely responsible for budgets, training and development, recruitment and helping my team to drive sales with our key accounts. I really enjoyed my time at Hilti but I was offered a new challenge when Altro approached me and I took the opportunity to join a family owned UK manufacturer who are one of the world's leading flooring and wall covering companies as a Specification and Design Consultant. I quickly established myself as a senior member of the Altro family and now look after the Scottish team working with a large network of Architects, Designers, Specifiers, End Users , Main contractors and our trusted Sub-contractors. We work in partnership with them all to provide sales and support across all sectors in Scotland. I am very passionate about design and have recently been to the iconic Bauhaus School of Design, this is an extraordinary place steeped in history that provides inspiration for all in the a&d community.
