As a part of my development as a C&WI engineer, I am completing a rotation as a supervisor of Shell's completions and well intervention field operations in the Permian Basin (oil). I am responsible for safety leadership at the jobsite, arrangement of required contractors, communication of the work scope and plan, and implementation of cost-savings strategies and optimization opportunities.

Greater Pittsburgh Area

I support well completions activities for Shell's unconventional dry gas business in Pennsylvania, including hydraulic fracturing, well intervention, and abandonment. I have been the lead project engineer for multiple new completions, including a long lateral which required vetting and deploying several technologies that were new to Shell. In the past, I was responsible for planning and managing water delivery to hydraulic fracturing sites, with a keen focus on continual cost reduction and integration with field-wide water-related activity. I was also the contract focal point for the coiled tubing (CT) service line, in charge of managing our contracts and supporting all CT jobs. I have completed the Shell Round II C&WI certification.

I was an instructional aide for the introductory chemical engineering course, Material and Energy Balances. I co-led weekly review sessions, held office hours, provided feedback to the primary instructor, and provided other support to the students as a member of the course staff.

Greater Denver Area

I was responsible for production surveillance of 15 natural gas wells in western Wyoming. I also evaluated the current corrosion treatment program in place on those wells, as well as the paraffin inhibition program for oil wells in northwestern Colorado.

I facilitated discussion and organized collaborative learning activities for organic chemistry and physics concepts in small student groups. I also prepared representative problem sets which focused on students’ particular needs. Additionally, I fostered community formation to enhance collaboration and study group effectiveness. I was honored as the physics study group leader of the year for 2011-12.In Fall 2011, I was charged with the responsibility of course leader for one of the physics courses. I was responsible for aiding other study group leaders and organizing collaboration in resource development.

I worked with fluorescence microscopy to quantify fluorescent polymeric particles bound to plaque tissue in mouse aortae so as to determine binding effectiveness of various particles. I also helped harvest mouse blood and organs. Additionally, I generated calibration curves for fluorescence in different dilutions of particle-containing mouse tissues.

Deer Park, Tx

I migrated advanced control loops for an isoprene recovery unit to a Honeywell TDC platform, and I trained unit operators how to use the new controls to stabilize and optimize the unit. I also implemented a new control scheme to stabilize the unit's solvent flow system.

Houston, Texas Area

I worked in the Engineering and Process Control Portfolio Management team where I investigated software in Shell's technical portfolio. I helped identify duplicated portfolio functionality and to helped plan for future adjustments to the porfolio.
