Christopher Menz is an art and development consultant and cultural tour leader based in Melbourne, Australia. He has worked in Australian art museums since 1985 and has been a curator, specialising in decorative arts, and a director. He was Director of the Art Gallery of South Australia from 2005 to 2010, and in 2011–12 he was Acting Director of the Ian Potter Museum of Art, the University of Melbourne. From 2001 to 2005 he was Senior Curator, Decorative Arts (International) at the National Gallery of Victoria, and from 1989 to 2001 he was Curator of Decorative Arts at the Art Gallery of South Australia. From 1985 to 2001 he was Curatorial Assistant, Australian Decorative Arts at the National Gallery of Australia. He has published and lectured extensively on Australian and European decorative arts, notably on the design work of William Morris, and curated numerous exhibitions. In additional to curatorial work and publishing on art and design, he is a valuer under the Australian Government's Cultural Gifts Program and a cultural tour guide.
