A product developer for VestmarkOne, a unified wealth managment system. My time at Vestmark has been spent working to improve the quality of the underlying architecture and scale the product up to support a larger client base. This was accomplished using tools like AppDynamics, SolarWinds and Splunk to supply data to support Java, SQL performance tuning, scripting and configuration changes to increase performance to meet SLA's for key clients at Vestmark.

Developing and building package library and frameworks for NSO (Network Services Orchestrator), formerly Tail-f Network System Controller, on a multi-coast team using an Agile based model for product management. Technologies have included Java, NETCONF/YANG modeling, Groovy, Python, Bash Scripting, Jenkins and more. Jointly Architected a CICD Software solution using the Pipeline Plugin for Jenkins to allow for a groovy based design model for new and previously development projects within the package library space of NSO and beyond.

Java development for Software-Defined Networks (SDN) and services in the cloud. Mostly focusing on Use Cases within the Mobile Communications Industry being hosted within a Openstack backend platform. Network Orchestration and Management with Cisco based virtual and non-virtual Devices. To include (NSM, VNMC, N1Kv, N7K, N9K, ASR, ASA, ACE, etc.)Also Architected, implemented and integrated an automated testing framework using JUnit, Jenkins and Subversion (SVN) to facilitate thousands of tests that would run during routine checkins, nightly builds and production builds.

Java Engineer within a Cloud Orchestration and Management Startup company. This startup company provided me an experience to work on a fast moving team with a variety of technically skilled colleagues and technologies. The cloud space has vast opportunities and will change the networking industry as we know it. It did not take long before Cisco bought this small startup and it was a wonderful experience to participate in. ESP was a financial company that focused on stock aggregation for large brokerages and banks. It dealt with many different world wide markets including NYSE, NASDAQ, London Stock Exchange, Japan Exchange Group, Shanghai Stock Exchange, Hong Kong Stock Exchange, and many more. It also had a number of smaller products that dealt with monitoring and tracking of the different markets, stock aggregates and consolidations ESP performed for both billing and financial data passed on to customers.As a Lead Engineer one of my duties was to be responsible for ECD. An internal J2EE application that monitors and interacts with the underlying MS SQL Server databases holding order transactions, financial data and street and allocation trades for all ESP products. This included development in the client, middle-tier and database persistency layers. I also worked on many of the other smaller applications. Deploying code in real time and working with Sales on Salesforce reports were daily tasks of mine.

Ambient is a Broadband over Power Line company (BPL). It's main focus was on transferring data over an existing power infrastructure used to distribute power. Data transfer rates would vary depending on a number of issues, but the technology is a novel approach to an interesting problem. Power companies were most interested in the technology for several reasons. The biggest one being able to monitor each and every customer remotely using technology instead of the conventional manpower that is still employed nation-wide.I was part of a talented team that helped developed a BPL administration system using a J2EE Webstart application that ran in a JBoss environment on a Linux server with a MySQL backend database connected through Hibernate. All communications to the BPL devices were done through SNMP. The BPL admin app would manage, monitor and administrate a large BPL network for a major Utility Service Company.

Symantec is one of the industry leaders in security and software based protection. There was a lot of opportunities to work on several different project during my time there. I was part of the Enterprise Gateway/Firewall Group on which I helped develop Java based "hot" fixes for Security Gateways in the field. SESA was another Symantec project that I worked on which aimed at creating an overarching framework for all Enterprise level Symantec products to be monitored, configured and possibly controlled. It was build mostly in Java with other underlying technologies being used to take advantage of some of the features Symantec products had to offer.

I was given the opportunity to transfer my skills from a work study program to a part/full time job at Plymouth State College while I attended University there as well. During which time I was working directly for the Information Technology installing, maintaining and fixing faculty and school officials machines. It not only gave me the ability to highlight some of my technical skills, but I also got to meet some great individuals including the University President and staff and other department educators outside my major (Computer Science).
