Task lead supporting a satellite system critical to DoD operations responsible for essential distribution via SATCOM of over 30 tactical unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) videos totaling over 3 terabytes of data transmitted per month. • Led 7 Booz Allen engineers and 2 subcontractor support teams in the fielding, expansion, and daily operations of the Digital Video Broadcast – Return Channel Satellite (DVB-RCS) hub and 50+ deployed terminals in an effort worth over $2 million annually.• Led the development and deployment of SATCOM terminals that included DVB modems, HaiVision video encoders, Cisco VoIP, SIPR and NIPR IP connectivity and TacLane encryption devices.• Planned the migration of the 50+ terminals from leased commercial Ku bandwidth onto a DoD satellite constellation.• Provided 24x7 Tier III support to deployed terminals. Served 12 months in Iraq with 2nd Stryker Brigade in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). Directed communications operations which included network planning, implementation, and support for 600 personnel covering 6,518 mi2. Supervised a team of 11 communications technicians. • Engineered and implemented IT architecture to support 45 Secret computers utilizing 7 Cisco routers and 6 Sun servers. Ensured secure communication channels were maintained in 6 branch offices throughout Iraq. • Utilized Army’s premiere communications packages to provide mission critical data throughout battle field. Systems included: Satellite System, encryption devices, fiber optic transmission cables and high frequency radios with enabled data transmissions.• Successfully maintained uninterrupted and secure communication with HQ during 2-week mission.
