I began my career as a hospital based general and vascular surgeon, but always had a special interest in venous and lymphatic disease. Ten years ago, I began treating venous disease exclusively. I developed Florida Vein Care Specialists in a single location in Winter Park, Florida. This practice has now grown to 7 locations. During this growth, I have emphasized a patient-centered, ethical, and efficient business model. I developed the Vein Academy to teach prospective and practicing physicians this highly successful model. After spending hundreds of hours with my fellow vein specialists, I developed a deep understanding of the challenges that many of us are facing. These challenges include higher supply costs, decreasing reimbursement, increasing competition, restrictive insurance policies, disrespect from other physician groups and specialties, and regret for no longer caring for the sickest and most critical patients. In an effort to overcome the challenge of high supply costs, I developed Vein360. My goal was to provide vein specialists with all of the supplies needed to perform our most common procedures at the lowest possible price. In October of 2019, we received clearance from the FDA to sell reprocessed Medtronic Closurefast catheters and have been experiencing logarithmic increase in monthly sales ever since. We have made substantial investment in R&D with the goal of giving vein specialists the tools they need to continue to work independently and thrive and grow in this difficult environment.
