After graduating from TSTC in August 2011, I started my career at KXXT TV in Waco, TX, providing IT support. I was the Server Administrator, the Network Administrator, and supervisor of help desk support. During this time, I discovered my passion for systems administration. I moved to Bryan in the fall of 2014, to work as the Server Technician for Bryan ISD. Working as the server technician I was able to hone my craft in a larger production environment. My primary duties were maintaining the production VMware cluster, upgrading hosts, verifying backups, providing support to hosted district software applications, and completing projects as directed by the Server Administrator. In addition to working with the server team, I was able to assist the network team with switch deployments, a new phone system installation, and general call tickets. At the beginning of the 2015 school year, I transitioned to the position of Server Administrator. As the Server Administrator, I have become more efficient in the management, troubleshooting, and optimization of vCenter and vSphere ESXi. Projects, such as the creation of an IP video system for Texas Senate Bill 507, and virtualizing the Finance and Student Information systems, have helped strengthen my abilities in project planning. In 2018 I moved to Prosper Texas to work as the Data Center Systems Administrator. It is here that I am working to implement and develop a fully redundant data center and work with a team to improve and grow our technology infrastructure. I look forward to increasing my knowledge of virtualization, hyper-converged systems, and systems administration.
