Mike is a corporate transactional attorney. While he focuses on helping entrepreneurs and high growth companies, he also has experience in contract negotiation, privacy, trademark, and real property. Mike’s education and robust business experience, rare among young attorneys, gives him the ability to provide high quality legal counsel while remaining in touch with the needs of his corporate clients.Mike began his career in entrepreneurship before completing degrees in finance and accountancy. Naturally ambitious and self-reliant, he was eager to apply what he learned, and founding a company gave him the opportunity to succeed on the merits of his hard work and innate ability.However, despite garnering investor attention, Mike left entrepreneurship after his father, a cardiac surgeon, passed away from multiple myeloma, a cancer of the bone marrow. Though running a small business while simultaneously helping as a primary caretaker was challenging, it was also inspirational. Mike was inspired to contribute to multiple myeloma charities, and the legal challenges he witnessed inspired him to pursue law.He also realized that the skills he had learned made the practice of law a natural fit. Mike had learned to balance personal responsibilities with a demanding career, to effectively manage stress while defining, prioritizing, and managing the myriad tasks faced daily, and to lead a close-knit team while remaining proactive, detail oriented, and self-motivated.Mike put those skills to work in graduate school where he pursued JD and MBA degrees. He demonstrated growth academically earning a 3.95 GPA in the MBA program. He earned unsolicited positive client and professor feedback serving a local aerospace company and its private equity parent through the Community Development and Entrepreneurship Clinic. At the Allen Institute, he gained practical legal experience serving the needs of the business unit including navigating the trademark registration and renewal processes and following contracts from inception through execution. Even through the pandemic’s uncertainty, Mike has remained driven to grow professionally. He participated with legal organizations like the Seattle IP Inn of Court and leveraged existing connections to gain practical experience with a startup law firm.Today, Mike is pursuing his dream, helping entrepreneurs, high growth companies, and investors at the intersection of tech and life sciences. In other words, he is helping those who are using new techniques and technologies to solve problems like the cancer that took his father.
