Christopher Monroe joined the GW Athletics Buff and Blue development staff as the Associate Director of Development in January of 2020. Christopher’s responsibilities include the development of philanthropic major gifts for GW Athletics.Christopher is a strong leader with extensive experience in revenue generation, relationship management, project planning, supervision and training within the marketing, sales, and business development related fields. Christopher is highly proficient in fostering and cultivating relationships through thorough understanding and appreciation of cultural sensitivity and proper political protocol. As a committed team player and builder with a track record of success in training, mentoring and motivating his peers through the exhibition of personal accountability and compassion. Christopher is very analytical and a quick learner. He is an outstanding communicator, listener and problem solver. Before transitioning into DAR, Christopher served as the Director of Strategic Marketing and Sales for George Washington University. Christopher is an active member of the National Association of Athletics Development Directors and the Atlantic 10 Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Conference Committee.A native of Washington DC, Monroe earned his B.S. from George Washington University and completed a Master of Science in Sport Management from George Washington University Business School, in 2018.Christopher and his family reside in Silver Spring, Maryland.Specialties: Client management, marketing, sales training and revenue generation.
