Award-winning editorial director, publisher and journalist specialising in leading global content teams, developing branded content and ultimately delivering digital growth. Previously head of commercial content for Top Gear's global digital network and other global UK Publishing/BBC Studios digital platforms, creating leading content-led solutions for BBC Worldwide's advertisers (including Kia, Audi, Polaris, Castrol, Pirelli and more). This followed a four year stint as editor of TopGear.com, leading the digital expansion of the world's favourite motoring media brand across emerging platforms. Past roles also include Digital Editor-in-Chief (Men's) at Bauer Media, International Editorial Director at EMAP (a role that managed a profitable network of brands across more than 40 countries) and editor of the hugely successful FHM.com all the way back in 2001 (at the time of our launch, one of the biggest websites in pre-broadband Britain). As a journalist have contributed many cover stories, interviews, features and reviews to the likes of Arena, FHM, Traveller, Q, Ministry of Sound and The Face over the years, as well as providing media analysis to various newspapers. It all began when I was named Radio 4's Young Critic of the Year in 1993 for a panegyric to John Peel printed in the Radio Times, and was subsequently a panelist on Radio 4's arts show Kaleidoscope. I started my full-time career as an advertising copywriter working on the Orange, Goldfish, World Vision and Sky accounts. Spending weeks teaching young children in remote Malawi how to film and edit their own short ads for World Vision in 1999 using new technology is still the career highlight. I was also one of the people who wrote the football reports on the BBC's Ceefax news service through the late 90s. I have chaired and presented at many media conferences all over the world, and still have a season ticket at QPR in the same seat I've had for 30 years.
