Starting in September 2023, Christopher Moore joined USAID/Iraq as the Director of the Economic Growth Office and also as the acting Director of the Office of Democracy and Governance. From 2019 until mid 2023, he was with USAID’s Regional Development Mission for Asia (RDMA) leading economic growth programming that spanned the ASEAN region. At the same time, he served as RDMA’s private sector engagement advisor and liaison to the US Development Finance Corporation. Before coming to Southeast Asia, Mr. Moore was assigned to USAID/El Salvador, where he led the bilateral economic growth portfolio from 2015-2019. The program there utilized technology and innovation systems to generate better value add for exports, and helped develop the vocational skills of vulnerable youth and other likely migrants for formal, dignified employment. From 2012 - 2014, Mr. Moore was the Sustainable Growth Officer at USAID/Peru, managing activities designed to mitigate global climate change. Prior to joining USAID, Mr. Moore worked in the private sector for nearly a decade as a public affairs and opinion research advisor for Fortune 50 corporations, political campaigns, industry associations, non-profit advocacy groups, and governments. He specialized in providing those clients with message development, issues management, and strategic communications advisory services.
