Chris Moore is the CEO of FIRST, a robotics community that prepares young people for the future through hands-on, PreK-12 classroom and afterschool STEM programs. He provides extensive leadership, advocacy and field engagement experience to his role, as well as a deep passion for building programs that serve youth, families and communities. For the past 25 years, Chris has driven growth in both corporate and nonprofit organizations. He is a purpose and impact-driven executive who is committed to the intersection of youth development, business and technology. Chris believes it’s critical to encourage students’ identity discovery through participation in activities, like hands-on STEM learning, that can build their confidence and self-esteem. He is a visionary leader who has made it his mission to tackle workforce issues relating to diversity, equity and inclusion. Through his work at FIRST he encourages the development of new initiatives, partnerships and education that break down barriers to STEM inclusion, which ultimately empowers students from all backgrounds to pursue their passions and succeed in STEM fields. Previously, Chris has worked as the CEO of the Positive Coaching Alliance and US Youth Soccer, the largest youth sport organization in the United States providing access to soccer to three million youth athletes nationwide. His past philanthropic efforts include partnering with the NFL and the former First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, to raise awareness and increase fundraising support for Fuel Up to Play 60. Chris has earned a B.A. in International Relations from Lake Forest College and received an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He currently resides in Little Elm, Texas, with his wife of 21 years, and two teenage sons.
