Throughout my position I optimised and evolved the procurement and stock systems. This resulted in an increase in research productivity while ensuring expenditure targets were achieved. Development of Standard Operating Procedures resulted in further cost and time savings through production of large yields of communal resources, such as bacterial expression lines, high competency competent cells, protein molecular weight standards for MALS/SAXS and proteases for cleaving fusion proteins. I also was responsible for maintenance of our laboratory HEK293F and Sf9 expression cell lines.A proportion of my time was spent as a fire warden, inductions for new staff/student lab members and teaching in undergraduate practical's.
