While there, I Introduced in-house synthesis by setting up polymer laboratory and pilot reactors; trained chemists and engineers to produce unique polymers. Reverse engineered purchased raw materials while simultaneously incorporating improvements that substantially reduced costs and increased flexibility and innovation. Developed water-based mold release agents for a wide array of applications in the molded rubber, urethane, composite and other markets. Developed a unique, proprietary tethered polymer technology that lead to dramatically enhanced coatings performance and products that incorporated the technology that went on to earn millions of dollars annually in sales.

Genesee Polymers Corp. manufactures a broad range of silicone-based products for a number of industrial applications. These include industrial mold release agents, electronics, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, paints and coatings, paper treatment, printing inks and textile softeners. I worked as a silicone polymer chemist developing silicone fluids, waxes, polyols, resins, cyclics and silanes for chemical synthesis and manufacturing. Many of these were unique and novel compounds used in a variety of industries, including academic research. Also worked in development of a range of unique products developed for specific applications including cable lubricants, fiber sizing and defoamers. Utilized numerous common analytical equipment, titrations and other laboratory testing procedures to quantify and validate laboratory results. Also trained in the duties and responsibilities of Quality Control / Quality Assurance. Was key in helping to write, roll out and implement an ISO 9000:2000 Quality program corporate wide.
