our clients at the IOPD are required to be inspected unannounced, we will visit all our clients once every three years co confirm that they are running to our standards and to advise on any short coming. Being an track mangier for York Raceway and my work with arena and events allows me to use my experience and knowledge to make practical recommendations. I have inspected every thing from world class racing circuits to muddy fields for motor cross. The IOPD client list is incredibly diverse, it would be unreasonable to list every thing, especially as some clients require confidentiality.I have also inspected facilities that have had fatalities and been part of investigations of the fatalities, to be sure that we learn form them and look at procedures in to how to avoid them in the future.I also help and advise clients to any issues they have had from noise and planning, getting a better understanding of custom and practise, and i worse cases offering support when something bad happens. Again my experience in track and venue management proving invaluable.

York Raceway Calendar,I choose the days we have events run whilst avoiding clashes with other drag strips and events, I also choose when and what acts to have like jet cars or our own wheelie truck displays.Design the promotion material, Using the skills I leaned in graphic design, to keep costs to a minimum I design almost all promotional material, including magazine adverts, leaflets and clothing. Market the events,I then create marketing strategies to market each event to the people they are most likely to attract. I write up press release, and post them to al corners of the internet with a promotional image. I have also a team of volunteers that advice me and help the message get the maximum coverage. Prepare the facilities for the events, before every event there is a checklist of over 20 jobs which includes repair any damaged property, maintain the grandstand to a safe standard, sweep the venue of any debris and dust, fill in pot holes and maintain roads, this check list take up to a week to complete so the venue is ready.Track Prep I have managed to develop the track now to be able to hold high horsepower vehicles many achieving there optimum times, the venue over the 2014 season has proved its self to be a comfortable 8 second track for door cars. it has also meant that racers have continued to use the venue as there cars has evolved the track has proved itself to give them there optimum times.Time keep, I am one of only a handful of people in the UK that can use the TSI computer, and i can run a full race event adequately doing the ladders, print outs, qualifying.Marshal,I also have done every roll at the drag strip CommentateGeneral marshallingStarterVehicle recoveryOil down clean upOrganising race classesRace directorBurnout pads

Maintain Monster Trucks and large Stunt Vehicles,I help maintain all the vehicles with services, and set up for shows which include checking tire pressures, setting the right pressures in the nitrogen shocks i also work part of a team to repair any damages to any of the vehicles. Driver of Grim Reaper Monster Truck and Amourgeddon Tank.I have been privileged to drive the Grim Reaper, Amourgeddon and on occasion back draft. All vehicles are completely different but are all driven in a choreographed routine which is planned to entertain the public in an exciting but a safe as possible show. On occasion i drive the Backdraft wheelie truck which is technically the most challenging vehicle to drive. Crowd Safety,When I am not driving i am charge of crowed safety and the arena, i make sure that no one is where they shouldn’t be, i have contact with drivers to pull a stunt if i felt it was un safe, i am often in charge of the kill switches of the vehicles so i could stop them should there be a problem.Arena set up,to ensure that we provide the best show as safe as possible with as little damage to the arena i am in charge and work with and sometimes coordinate a team to lay ground sheets to collect any other debris, set out the scrap vehicles, lining them up directing forklift drivers, in some cases drive the forklift to put the cars in to position. Polish clean, We pride our selves on our presentation so before each show i work with a team to polish and valet the vehicles, this means i use quite a few different products to get the vehicles looking there best.Engage with public press, as a kid I remember the monster truck drivers of the past being cold and recluses, i have tried hard to make sure i am on hand to talk to the public pose for pictures and sign autographs. i also have done several radio interviews.Prepare the scrap cars We remove all the glass windows and lights to make sure that no glass will be left after a show.
