I am a Certified Information Systems Security Professional with a Top Secret Security Clearance, and currently am the Directory of Cybersecurity for the Indiana Air National Guard. Although I've lived at several locations around the globe, I'm a Hoosier at heart, having grown up just northeast of Indianapolis, Indiana.I've always loved cybersecurity and Information Technology, and am blessed that my personal hobbies and professional career finally align with one-another. I've had the opportunity to develop apps, participate in IT and Operational Technology full-scale exercises, write and present cybersecurity legislation, accomplish asset and configuration management, and supervise a high-quality staff that's constantly resolving trouble tickets while also strategically planning for future infrastructure growth. In the order of importance, my values are wisdom, integrity, and fellowship, and I desire to work for organizations and supervisors that also hold these same values in high esteem.I am a graduate of Indiana University (for both my Masters and Bachelors) and have worked in long-term healthcare, the transportation industry, and the military. I have served in the Indiana Air National Guard for almost two decades and am currently the rank of Major within the organization. My previous roles include Director of Personnel, Deputy Director of International Programs, and Chief of Public Affairs in the Indiana National Guard, as well as Communications Director for the Indiana Department of Transportation.In my time as a professional communicator, I have (in an official capacity) hosted a multitude of distinguished visitors, including Governors, Mayors, Senators, Representatives, Generals, Foreign Chiefs of Defense, Foreign Ambassadors, the US Secretary of Defense, and US Ambassadors. I have presented press conferences, open houses, and town halls for several organizations.In my free time, I write both fiction and non-fiction, develop and test tabletop board games and social deduction games, and manage my personal website Aquilitz.com, where I post my research into subjects I find interesting.

Director Of CybersecurityIndiana Air National Guard Dec 2022 - PresentIndianapolis, Indiana, United StatesThe Director of Cybersecurity for the Indiana Air National Guard (ANG) oversees the organization’s cybersecurity, evaluating new cybersecurity threats and Information Technology (IT) trends, and developing effective security controls. The role advises senior leadership on eliminating and mitigating network-based vulnerabilities through technical and procedural means, primarily through implementing a Risk Management Framework (RMF). The role maintains and reports Information Systems (IS) and IT systems assessment and authorization status and issues in accordance with USAF guidance. The Director supervises the ANG Cybersecurity (A6) staff at Headquarters (HQ) and acts as the primary advisor to senior leadership on all cybersecurity programs and regulations, including statewide cybersecurity awareness staff training, and federal data breach requirements, including the Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA) and Statements on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAEs). The Director develops and enhances IT, cybersecurity, and exploitation knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) throughout the Indiana ANG, and supports the development of Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP) Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) in order to protect the Department of Defense Information Network (DODIN). -
Director Of PersonnelIndiana Air National Guard Oct 2020 - Dec 2022Indianapolis, Indiana, United StatesThe Director of Personnel for the Indiana Air National Guard (ANG) Headquarters (HQ) oversees all ANG HQ personnel actions, manpower resource acquisitions, and daily operations. Deputy Director, International ProgramsIndiana National Guard May 2018 - Oct 2020Indianapolis, Indiana AreaThe position of Deputy Director of International Programs for the Indiana National Guard (INNG) oversees all operations and communications relating to the INNG’s international and state partners. The Deputy Director plans and executes weekly engagements with Indiana’s two official partner nations, Slovakia and Niger. These engagements are comprised of a variety of senior staff from the respective countries, including U.S. Ambassadors and the Chiefs of Defense of both Slovakia and Niger. The Deputy Director is responsible for the INNG State Partnerships Program (SPP) budget, which totals over $1.1 million annually.
