I have worked as a hand bookbinder for 40 years working in London, Aberdeen and Canada specialising in restoration, special edition and presentation workI have been involved in numerous high end projects for Royalty, Governments, Museums, Galleries, Universities, Film Companies, Corporations, Photographers, Musicians, Advertising agencies, Sportsmen and Women etc etcDuring my years in the industry I have also given talks and demonstrations on the subject of bookbinding and I also gained my city and guilds teaching qualification which enabled me to teach anyone aged 16 and overI have been lucky enough that my skills have won me some awards in both the UK and Canada ( listed in honours and awards section ) and have recently added some more to my cv........ on behalf of my company I made a book and box that won first prize at the Digital Print and Marketing Awards 2017 and I also made 4 different styles of book and boxes that won us Prepress Company of the Year 2017 at the Printweek AwardsOnwards and upwards as they say......Update on profile.....delighted to have found out that again on behalf of the company my book and box have won an award at the Digital Print and Marketing Awards 2018....first prize in the environmental printer category 👍July 2020 update......due to redundancy because of the pandemic the time has come to branch out on my own so have founded Bensons Bookbinding Ltd.......August 2022 update.......been in business just over 2 years.......still hanging on in thereSeptember 2023 update…….just over 3 years on me lonesome……still here 👍
