Chris is an educator and business professional with over 20 years of experience. His career began in the financial services industry. He provided financial audit, systems analysis, and controls consultation. He was able to transfer these skills to a leading biotech company. At Vertex, Chris wore a number of hats in the internal controls and human resources groups. He was recognized for his leadership by the CEO in co-directing a group involved in the corporate relocation from Cambridge to Fan Pier in Boston, MA. One of his most valued opportunities was being mentored by the Executive Vice President of Research and Development. A desire to teach led him to the education field. Chris is a passionate and dedicated classroom teacher. He has led and taken part in numerous leadership opportunities, such as: PLC team lead, teacher mentor, reading curriculum implementation team, PBIS team member, vertical teaming, Millis Teachers Association Executive Board member, and hiring. Chris was selected by the superintendent to be part of the first Massachusetts cohort of FUSE educators, via the Highlander Institute and TEC Collaborative. As a FUSE Fellow and Lighthouse Classroom teacher, Chris was a mentor to 4 teachers in a neighboring district and an example for his colleagues. Chris taught educators in the strategies of personalized and blended learning.
