I was a Customer Support Consultant with over 20 years of experience in the IT industry, but I have recently moved into a Skills Development Facilitator role. I have a passion for solving problems, delivering excellent service, and learning new skills. I am also a self-starter, a creative thinker, and a generous person who enjoys helping others in my community.Background I grew up in a small town in the Karoo, where I learned to be independent and motivated from a young age. I started my journey in the IT industry in 2002, working for a one-stop shop that provided all the IT services in the area. I gained a lot of knowledge and skills in various programs, coding, and gadgets.Current Role I currently work as a Customer Support Consultant at a Pet Food factory. My role involves procurement admin, logistics, and service delivery to end users. I have to deal with different challenges every day and use creative and sometimes unorthodox approaches to solve them. I also automated the service desk software to make it more efficient and organized. Solarwinds has even used my solution for having a ticket create a new ticket as the recommended workaround. I also mentor and encourage the younger staff on the team and help them prepare for exams. I have the patience, motivation, and ambition to deliver excellent service and make things perfect.Personal Interests I have many hobbies that I enjoy in my spare time. I grow vegetables on my land and donate them to charity. I love taking trips on my motorcycle to neighbouring towns.
