Operating three fixed site locations as well as mobile collections, the center provides blood products to over 20 hospitals, distributing 30,000 blood products annually. Responsible for all financial and facility operations of the center, working collaboratively with the CEO in evaluating future options for expansion and new services.

A multi-partnership physician practice serving five hospitals in Delaware; the largest physician practice in the state, UHA provides high quality hospitalist staffing working collaboratively with each hospital to serve the needs of the patient and primary care physicians.Responsible for all financial performance and daily operations of the practice, ensuring sound accounting practices, cash management reporting, billing and compliance, statistical tracking, and tax planning.• Reviewed hospital subsidy contracts resulting in additional revenue billing of $130,000• Coordinated a large compliance project, addressing billing inconsistencies with federal payors; worked with attorneys to reduce risk and exposure while maintaining positive communications. • Secured financial backing letter of credit for lease construction project• Recommended strategic changes to reduce expense and capitalize on partnership strengths in the wake of the loss of a contract.

A comprehensive Cancer and Research Center, it is the region's only hospital devoted entirely to cancer treatment, research and prevention and is consistently ranked by U.S. News and World Report among the top cancer centers.; Responsible for the financial and business operations of the center providing support and creative strategic thinking to the Center to achieve short and long range financial goals. Provided direct oversight to the areas of Accounting, Business Operations, Contracting, Disbursements, Financial Information Systems, Financial Planning, Budget and Reimbursement, Grants Management, Patient Financial Services, and Treasury functions. Collaboratively worked with staff and operational consultants to develop 13 week cash forecasting model to update banking institutions.Project Leader on the Patient Access Redesign team, achieving success in blending the Pre-visit and Ambulatory Care registration areas, resulting in 99% of new patients pre-registered which lead to improved charge capture and reconciliation, fewer denials, and improved customer service scores.Successfully secured $10M in necessary capital financing during a time of severe cash shortages and covenant defaults, negotiating optimal rates and structured within FASB 13 operating lease criteria to avoid further covenant issues.Evaluated Letter of Credit risk for various operational components, successfully reduced exposure and replaced with less costly coverage.Realigned excess coverage in our Insurance Captive resulting in the release of $4M in reserve requirements, thereby unrestricted $4M in cash and investments.Recommended significant changes to our Post Retirement Benefits program that will eliminate $8M in recognized liability and provide cash flow savings of $500k annually.

Prepared and presented monthly financial statements to senior management and board of directors, coordinated all treasury cash/investment management and bank relations, facilitate the annual audit process and completion of federal and state tax returns for multiple organizations, directed the actuarial functions for pension and self insurance programs. Improved and enhanced internal controls resulting in elimination of all Audit 'management letter' comments and issues for twelve consecutive years.Initiated alternative financing Interest Rate Swap program to capitalize on variable rates, increasing annual cash flow by $800,000, and reduced effective borrowing rate from 6.2% to 4.5%.Appointed Director of Finance/CFO for Deborah Hospital Foundation in 2006 leading to increased efficiency of operations and improved reporting, resulting in annual savings of $500,000.Key leader in selection and implementation of our new financial system software. Project was completed within budget and on schedule. Instrumental in placing a $38 million public bond offering through NJHCFFA.
