OpenAir is a distributed global volunteer collective advancing carbon dioxide removal solutions to the climate crisis through collaborative Research & Development, Advocacy and Pilot-based missions.In 2020 the OpenAir community is actively developing VIOLET, the world's first open-source licensed Direct Air Carbon Capture (DACC) machine (Release June 2020)

- Co-authored policy white paper Paving the Way for Low-Carbon Concrete: Recommendations for a Federal Procurement Strategy. - Led design, research and completion of Carbon180’s online Direct Air Capture Map of Actors, Plants and Projects (DACC MAPP).- Researched, conceived and facilitated "collective intelligence relay" methodology to develop new federal direct air capture policies through multi-stakeholder engagement.

- Helped build and manage national network of Brooklyn Solar Canopy distributors across six states.Led application submittals to secure several prestigious industry honors for the company, including selection as one of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies in the World 2019. - Conceived and project managed redesign and launch of www.brooklynsolarcanopy.com.- Planned, wrote and produced three professional promotional web videos: “Solar Living”, “Introducing the Brooklyn Solar Canopy” and “The Brooklyn Solar Canopy Guide for Solar Professionals.”

- Led new product development for Brooklyn's leading solar design and installation firm, and NYC's exclusive developer and distributer of solar canopies for flat roof buildings. - Led multiple successful advocacy efforts to effect state and local policy changes enabling greater solar and battery storage access in New York City, including: introduction of NYC solar canopy rebate; the removal of maximum height restrictions for solar installations in low density neighborhoods; and introduction and passage of NYC battery storage property tax abatement.- Prepared winning proposals to secure solar design and installation contracts for large multi-property affordable housing portfolio in Brooklyn, and New York’s first multi-family, onsite community solar project.- Conceived and designed display and exhibition plan for Brooklyn SolarWorks client showroom. - Conceived, planned and project managed relaunch of www.brooklynsolarworks.com

Led research and writing of "Microfinance and Energy Access: A Guide for Energy Policymakers" (October 2017). A publication of the Project to Accelerate Clean Energy - Deployment (PACE-D) Microfinance Support Program (MSP), a USAID supported initiative.The comprehensive report draws on the experiences of MSP partner MFIs and the perspectives of diverse stakeholders to map out the different ways in which microfinance is and might be relevant to India’s energy access and poverty elimination objectives. The report is primarily intended to inform and generate dialogue among readers who are directly or indirectly engaged in energy access policy formulation, analysis and advocacy in the Indian context.

As Senior Project Manager, I manage all phases of organizational outreach, assessment and selection; contractor procurement; and project implementation and oversight for the New York Rising Community Reconstruction Program's Solar + Battery Backup for Community Facilities Pilot Project. Sponsored by the New York State Governor's Office of Storm Recovery, and funded by HUD Community Development Block Grant resources, the project aims to increase the resiliency and emergency response capabilities of select community-based facilities located in New York City communities that sustained significant damage during Superstorm Sandy, and remain vulnerable to future emergency events.

The mission of Here Comes Solar (HCS) is to catalyze new solar adoption in high demand/high barrier sub-sectors of New York City’s residential market by identifying and mitigating specific barriers across three underserved property types: 1-4 family townhomes, multifamily cooperatives, and multifamily affordable housing properties. The approaches that have been developed and employed by HCS deploy demand aggregation strategies, active participation in barrier mitigation by would be adopters, and long-term collaborations with local solar installers that are geared toward learning and joint problem solving. During the two period from the program's launch in 2014 to 2016, when I left my position as founding director, HCS facilitated over 1.5 MW of solar capacity in NYC's five boroughs. More importantly, in line with its core objective, the program successfully catalyzed adoption activity in segments that had previously experienced very limited penetration, giving rise to thriving, self-sustaining markets today.

WaterTracker was a distributed digital reporting system that enabled rural communities in Afghanistan to report both malfunctions and successful repairs to local water points installed and funded by the Sustainable Water Supply and Sanitation program in Afghanistan, a 5-year USAID supported initiative. The system integrated audio reports submitted by village representatives via Interactive Voice Response (IVR) using basic mobile phones. Reports were logged and mapped on an instance of Ushahidi, the open-source mapping software, that was modified and adapted to meet the performance needs of this project. The tool enabled government staff to remotely monitor the performance of water supply assets in low access rural communities, and to measure the efficacy of communities to operate and maintain infrastructure over time. Additionally, the tool enabled government staff to identify innovations and problem-solving in the local context that could then be shared with other communities experiencing similar challenges.As project lead, I conceived of the project concept, carrying out all initial research; built institutional, commercial and inter-governmental partnerships to support the program's completion across stakeholders in Afghanistan, the United States and India; program managed the completion and implementation of the WaterTracker tool; and developed all training materials and protocols for village-level implementation.
