I am currently a year 1 student studying at Nanyang Polytehnic, pursuing a Diploma in Hospitality & Tourism Management. Started off as a rookie in the F&B industry at the age of 15, I worked as a server in PIzzaHut. During my time in PizzaHut, I've learnt how to interact with customers better, and the service recovery procedures. As I grew older and began to learn new things, I gradually stepped into the hotel line by changing my job to a banquet server. Gradually, I started to step up and lead the other part-timers working in my work place. My manager then entrusted me with a role that I never thought I could've pulled off; part-time banquet captain. Being a part-time banquet captain at the age of 18 is a whole new different feeling as there would be added responsibilities for us to uphold. Throughout my entire journey as a banquet server to a part-time banquet captain, I've learnt many different skill sets such as Adaptability, Critical thinking skills, Communication, Professionalism, etc. Even after such a long time, I know that I'm still not the best, and that I still have a lot of things that I need to learn, so I will never stop learning and keep improving in myself.
