• Worked as part of a multidisciplinary project to design and implement an autonomous Unmanned Ground Vehicle• Created generic PWM drivers utilizing hardware timers on an ARM-cortex based MCU to drive motors that control the unmanned vehicle• Utilized Saleae’s logic software coupled with a logic analyzer to troubleshoot PWM signals that control the speed and direction of the drive motor• Enabled an SPI interface between an ARM-cortex based MCU and a stepper motor controller. The interface between the controller and peripheral device is vital to the operation of the robotic arm that is located on the vehicle.• Set up an interrupt service routine which records sensor data that is being transmitted from the motor controller. The ISR is an essential safety feature that alerts the vehicle when the current draw of the drive motor is too high• Used Serial Wire Viewer to record velocity data which was then parsed by a Matlab script, and then used to generate a PID transfer function that adjusts the speed of the drive motors in real time• Created a ROS application that facilitated serial communication using the publisher-subscriber architecture on the Raspberry PI to interface with an ARM-cortex based MCU.
