Represented plaintiffs in civil rights and personal injury litigation, including vehicle collisions, premises liability, and assaults and batteries. Managed and was responsible for a caseload of approximately 20 cases, took and defended over 50 depositions, appeared at over 20 court hearings and conferences. Responsibilities included drafting motions, oppositions, pleadings, discovery, meet and confer letter, trial and settlement documents, and minor’s compromises, and communicating independently with clients, opposing counsel, witnesses, and experts.

Represented corporations and individuals in civil litigation, defended clients against personal injury lawsuits, including actions arising from automobile accidents and premises liability claims. Responsible for day to day case management, discovery, and motion drafting, including motions to compel discovery, demurrers and motions to strike, motions to quash, and summary judgement motions. Responsibilities included drafting meet and confer letters to opposing counsel, mediation briefs, and client reports and liability evaluations, and attended and appeared at several depositions, court hearings, and status conferences, including trial readiness conferences.

Defended public entities and nonprofit organizations in employment litigation, including against complaints of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, deprivation of rights, and writs of mandate. Drafted answers, demurrers, discovery requests and responses, meet and confer letters, motions to compel, mediation briefs, dispositive motions, motions in limine, and pre-trial documents. Attended status conferences, motion and ex-parte hearings. Conducted five depositions, drafted seven motions for summary judgment, and achieved numerous favorable settlements.

Advocates for employees in both class actions and Private Attorneys General Act representative actions, as well as plaintiffs in individual wrongful termination, personal injury, and general civil litigation cases. Currently focusing on a diverse range of litigation activities, from propounding and responding to discovery, drafting case management statements, meeting and conferring with opposing counsel, drafting mediation briefs, research memorandum, demand letters, lien negotiation letters and engaging in law and motion practice.

Worked with a sole-practitioner on discrimination, wage and hour, whistleblower, and classaction cases to gain additional litigation experience while awaiting bar results. Drafted anopposition to a motion to compel arbitration with secondary documents, a motion to compelfurther responses, a demand letter, a mediation brief, deposition topics and questions, internalresearch memoranda, and legislative advocacy reports to C.E.L.A.

Assisted personal injury attorneys in a five-attorney law office by conducting client intakes, researching legal issues, performing administrative work, and drafting legal pleadings, notices of claims, lien negotiations letters, and communications to clients, attorneys, insurance companies, and medical providers.

Drafted legal pleadings and motions. Reviewed and prepared client communications, intake, responses to discovery requests, and other case materials for personal injury, mass tort, and class action litigation. Assembled case materials by researching and analyzing information from documents, reports, exhibits, and secondary sources.

Coordinated between the UC Hastings Legal Writing and Research/ Moot Court Department and the sixty teaching assistants and thirty professors instructing the first year class in legal writing and research. Assisted the department in resolving administrative issues, and provided substantive weekly updates for teaching assistants. Also was a teaching assistant for a one of the legal writing and research sections.

Worked for UC Hastings to apply and further develop my legal writing skills. Edited 2016 LW&R memos, researched and drafted new memos for Fall 2017, reviewed teaching materials, LW&R and Moot Court student handbooks, and assisted the Supervising Attorney of the Hastings Appellate Project, a clinic that provides pro bono representation at the Ninth Circuit.

Designed and created an interactive map with the UC Davis Study Abroad Office for students travelling to foreign countries. Researched the laws impacting the LGBTQIA peoples, local resources, and advocacy organizations in more than 20 countries.
