My name is Christopher Orozco and I am a fourth-year Civil Engineering student at California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo. I have taken classes on oral communication and on AutoCAD. My AutoCAD portfolio includes retaining walls and cut/fill assessments for a road that incorporates land surveying and data analysis using Excel. I have also created a reinforced concrete floor layout plan, along with research on traffic signal warrants. During the summer of 2019 I was an engineering intern at TAIT & Associates in Santa Ana, California. With TAIT I worked with project managers on executing different aspects of projects, worked with Civil 3D to produce drafts, and worked with city officials to submit plans and acquire permits. This internship involved a lot of work with Microsoft office as well. During the summer of 2020 I worked with OHL North America as a field engineer intern. Here I developed great communication skills by constantly relaying information to people at our job sites, and I also conducted weekly SWPPP reports. Other skills I have developed are Primavera 6 and familiarity with bidding, procurement, and project execution.
