The work ranged from FEA analysis of static structures, vibration measurement modelling and analysis, implementing remote strain gauge measurement systems to bolting calculations. - Design & modification of hydraulic power pack systems for vessel specific installation. This ranged from modifying standard units to accommodate varying flow rates and pressures to structural modifications for military shock rating - Co-ordinating the purchase, technical acceptance and shipping of ride control equipment to the respective shipyard for both new installations and in-service vessels. This involved liaising with clients and suppliers directly to ensure desired outcomes were met.Lead Mechanical Engineer - Work within the team of design disciplines to modify vessel systems to match client requirements. This included revising engineering systems such as refrigerant, fire sprinkler system design, freshwater, black and grey water collection and treatment, deck hydraulic system whilst minimising impact to vessel fitout, structure and electrical systems. All design work involved working within the require rules and guidelines and communicating with the respective classification society. - Service EngineerProvide project co-ordination by providing quotes with technical scope of work to Austal service branches for submittal to clients and then working with subcontractors, design and production departments to plan service work, source & cost required equipment, arrange procurement, packing and shipment of required equipment. Additional technical support was provided by via product demonstrations or mockups in the TROX testroom facilities to aid system design and product selection by providing accurate measurement of flow rates, temperature and velocity gradients, allowing clients to modify and test the setup to ensure the desired airflow is achieved.
