As a Technical Field Service Engineer specialising in HPLC, Flash Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry at Verulam Scientific, I am responsible for the technical repairs, maintenance, validations, lab staff training on instrument use, operational qualifications, installations, problem identification and resolutions of a wide range of analytical instruments supplied to a vast variety of scientific institutes across the country.in my previous role as a Molecular Engineer and Laboratory Support Coordinator at Roche Diagnostics, I was responsible for independently managing my workload, schedule, training, compliance, competence, and customer relations. My primary duties include servicing, diagnosing, and repairing molecular screening instruments, histological staining and screening instruments, urinalysis systems, and aliquoting instruments. This encompasses engineering support, applications support and training, IT support, network maintenance, and online customer support. I was also appointed as the UK Ambassador for E-Learning Service Future Development, where I assisted in the development of online training and teachings to be implemented company-wide. In addition, I took on a team member role for customer views team for job bids, where I reviewed contract bids and provide expert insight and opinions. I possess extensive experience in molecular diagnostics, mass spectrometry, microbiological screening, including bacteriology, virology, mycology, parasitology, and environmental monitoring. I also possess a large variety of health and safety qualifications including COSHH assessor trained.My leadership and team management skills were recognized when I was awarded the NHS Edward Jenner NHS leadership award.My previous roles as a Biomedical Scientist at James Cook University Hospital Microbiology department, associate practitioner at the Freeman Hospital Newcastle, and medical laboratory associate in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Gateshead have provided me with excellent hands-on healthcare setting experience. I have completed the Portfolio for the IBMS Certificate of Competence and the Specialist IBMS portfolio.My experience working in busy laboratories and as a supervisor in NHS trusts has equipped me with strong planning and organizational skills, the ability to prioritize tasks, and a proactive approach to identifying and completing tasks.I am registered with both the Institute of Biomedical Sciences and the British Mass Spectrometry Society.
