Worked on contract for Realtime Management Ltd, a change management company. I was approached to join them for an engagement project for a Client of theirs in the oil and lubricants sector.I was responsible for assessing their Client's existing infrastructure and systems in the distribution arm of their business, working with the Consulting Director to understand their requirements and produce the technical solution sections of the engagement paper. The technical solution consisted of a combination of the Microsoft SQL Server BI stack (specifically SSIS and SSRS) and smart-client .NET applications. In addition, a .NET smart client proto-type was developed, using the Client's own data, to support the proposal.

Responsible for leading systems development and managing the development team in the production of predominently smart client back office systems including supply chain and financials for a Magazine Trade Marketing and Distribution company. This included a large number of business-to-business interfaces with our publishing and distribution partners, achieved using Agile methodologies.Research & Development for new technologies to aid the Business' ever-changing requirements, including SharePoint and smart client technologies.KEY ACHIEVEMENTS • Designed, wrote and implemented a new system within short timescales which directly resulted in a £60M per annum client signing a 3 year contract..• Designed and wrote a Carriage Invoicing system from the ground up, which was used as a USP for new business as well as reducing the data input overheads in the finance section by 15%.• Led the team that wrote a new cost modelling / forecasting system allowing the business to predict and reconcile costs, resulting in finding new streams of revenue and reducing costs.• Led the team that built a 500M+ row EPoS warehouse that was used to provide automated reporting to our clients saving 2 days per week of resource.• Designed and implemented the company’s main data security infrastructure. This ensured security compliance as part of our clients’ contracts and was independently audited by Delloite UK.• Utilising project management skills, I managed the team that was responsible for the move of the company’s IT infrastructure from its premises near Oxford Street to Smithfields.
