Our aim is to bring healing & hope for children in developing countries & communities who are affected by hunger & illiteracy. We provide funds and supplies to support children in their education. Teaching upper division online courses in genocide and African politics, offering undergraduate students engagement with scholarly communities and research opportunities.

Mencap supports people with a learning disability. I have responded to bullying and harassment rates through briefing leaders with internal research, diagnosis and proposed interventions. The role has also involved researching workforce force demographics and representation using equality monitoring data, and doing so through an intersectionality lens. I have developed an equality, diversity and inclusion strategy to take Mencap into the 21st Century practice in this field. I manage various projects, facilitate a staff colleague network, advise managers and project leads on equality-related aspects of their work, and provide overview of policy and decision-making by the organization. I use a theory of change approach to plan, measure and review progress on our strategy and other programs of work.

PhD research (The Vortex of Genocide: Rwandan Refugees and the Relational Formation of Identities in Genocide) examined narratives and fluidity of perpetration identities in genocide, offering a case study of post-colonial genocide in Africa, and develops how narrative contributes to conflict transformation.

At the John and Elnora Ferguson Centre for African Studies as a Research Associate, I additionally worked as editor-in-chief for the centre’s blog Debitores Sumus. I research and write weekly posts, and seek out contributors to the blog, and maintain the events and academic information contained therein. I am also engaged in various capacities in event planning and generally supporting the work of the centre. As Centre Coordinator I ran the financial, logistical and event aspects of this key centre to University output. I arranged, booked and publicized speaking engagements, as well as arranging accommodation and reimbursements for speakers. I managed the Centre’s programme of activities, which includes projecting of logistics and financial aspects of key business and publication activities. Additionally, I was assigned major projects including the coordination and bookings involved in the MA student Africa Study Visit.

Managed and delivered key, organisation-wide projects by working with stakeholders, including operational staff recruitment and community engagement. Facilitating training sessions for new managers on diversity, unconscious bias introduction for staff, and workforce-wide on inclusion and workplace environment. Designed and facilitated execution of Service-wide Diversity training for all staff, including follow-up mechanism. Delivered advice on compliance with UK equality legislation, focusing on the Public Sector Equality Duty, as well as supporting managers or employees with workplace adjustments relating to gender, disability, or race. Research and writing the organisation’s annual equality report, gender pay gap report, a new dignity and respect policy and diversity and inclusion policy. Oversaw and facilitated staff inclusion network, supervising colleagues in projects to improve diversity and inclusion at work.

Our goal is enable the Deaf Community to utilise the health service as well as everyone else, by overcoming language and knowledge barriers to understand their own health issues.Duties involved drafting reports and online publications that represent our findings and perspective on Deaf health inequalities and education. Communication and meeting with health and social care professionals in order to promote our activities and services. Secured new tenders and community interest in our services. Led website regeneration project, writing new content for the site and overseeing the design.

Participated in graduate level seminars and coursework, complete MA dissertation "Fighting Atrocity: Rethinking the Connections between Mass Violations, Humanitarian Intervention, and Nonviolent Civil Resistance". Program involved attendance at Kingston University, Siena University, and Collegium Civitas.
