As store supervisor, along with my fellow members of management, I was responsible for the day to day running of the store, creating an excellent customer experience and achieving budgetedtargets for stock and sales. -Purchasing, monitoring and managing stock in keeping with HMV standards and within stock targets, ensuring that profit targets are achieved and stock turn targets met.-Ensuring all processing and returns of stock are managed according to company policy.-Developing understanding of financial information in order to control the budgets for the store and maximize sales opportunities.-Ensuring all colleagues are aware of relevant financial and sales targets in order to maximise performance.-Making sure that company procedure is adhered to in all aspects of cash-handleing and accounts-Supporting the development of colleagues through all appropriate training initiatives, ensuring they possess the required level of product knowledge.-Recruiting and selecting new colleagues in line with company values, ensuring that all colleagues receive an effective introduction.-Monitoring colleagues performance in line with company procedures.-Maintaining high customer service at all times.-Ensuring that all controllable cost were managed to achieve maximum profit.-Ensuring Company Loss Prevention and Health & Safety policies and procedures are adhered to.-Understanding of HR procedures, including investigations, disciplinaries and initial management issues i.e. lateness, sickness.-Responsible for staff communications and team briefings.-Complying to all store/regional/central communications – e.g. daily/news/regional conference calls.-Flexible with working shifts to support the needs of the business.-Completing Loss Prevention tasking in their absences making sure that all tasks are completed to high company standards.-Ensuring a continuous and effective shop floor deterrent capable of identifying and reducing external theft
