I was responsible for a team of four engineers.I was responsible for assessing processes for their relevance, and assessing the adequacy of engineering equipment.Strengthened company’s business by leading implementation of several new products.Spearheaded cross-functional initiative to achieve higher OEE and better quality across all products.Taken a lead role in a plant relocation merger.Work on multiple projects regarding continuous improvements (kaizen).Trained, coached and mentored staff to ensure smooth adoption of new programmes.Worked directly with other departments to lead 5’s throughout the company.Designed/ project managed close to 1 million pounds worth of steel pallets most of these where used for Nissan products.

I started my employment as an apprentice where I spent the first year developing my basic engineering workshop skills learning how to operate lathes, pillar drills, milling machines and basic bench skills whilst learning how to interoperate engineering drawings. The second and third year of the apprenticeship was spent moving around the company learning all the different job roles from shop floor production, maintenance, transport office, project engineering and many more. Once my apprenticeship was completed I was placed in the tool room where I spent two and half years, my main responsibilities where making/repairing tooling and working on various projects in this time I also spent 6 months on a CNC lathe working in the roll trade department. The last three and a half years of my employment I worked work as a Quality engineer my main responsibilities where quality inspection, calibration, auditing, dealing with complaints (using 8D’s), dealing with non-conformities, continuous improvement, NPI, designing of gauges, 5’s projects, SMED projects and other project related tasks.
