With nearly two decades of service in the field of education, I have been fortunate to experience the full spectrum of educational settings from Pre-K through 12th grade and from self-contained programs to fully inclusive environments. My journey has been one of growth and diverse experiences, shaping me into a well-rounded professional with the ability to think systemically about continuous improvement.As a Middle Grades Teacher, I fostered a culture of academic achievement that consistently exceeded district and state averages in both Math and Reading. Progressing through various roles including Gifted Program Coordinator, Math Curriculum Coordinator, Assistant Principal, and ultimately Principal, I was able to hone my leadership and program coordination skills across a range of projects.During my tenure as a program coordinator and content specialist, I successfully orchestrated the integration of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program across multiple schools. Through strategic initiatives and the use of holistic portfolios, I elevated the representation of underrepresented populations in our gifted programs. As I Transitioned into the role of a school leader, I embraced the challenge of reforming disciplinary systems, shifting towards a restorative justice approach to create a more inclusive and empowering educational environment.Currently, as a Human Resources Director, I find immense satisfaction in guiding new teachers through the cycles and patterns of the school year, enabling them to optimize their practice and develop their teacher presence and voice. My role involves not only inducting new educators into our school system but also working closely with paraprofessionals and other classified staff aspiring to become teachers.
