Research on aeroelasticity of gas turbine blades through the application of STAR-CCM+ to develop benchmark and flutter simulations to resolve issues in unsteady aerodynamic forces and moments on the blade and associated vibratory responsesResearch on the use of alumina nanoparticles in an epoxy matrix to provide stress and integrity information through piezospectroscopy. Tests were conducted to investigate the maximum compression and tensile stress of lab developed composites.
