Senior Legislative Counsel to the Committee on Aging, Committee on Health, and the Subcommittee on Senior Centers and Food Insecurity. Facilitate the legislative process for the Committees and Subcommittee. Prepare legal memoranda, and draft and negotiate legislation. Set agendas and organize public oversight and legislative hearings with Council Members. Collaborate with Committee Chairs to hold hearings, write Committee reports, and substantively brief Committee Chairs before hearings. Work with Committee staff on oversight of Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and Department for the Aging, including compliance with local laws and gauging impact of existing policies.

Bill Drafting Division. Drafted legislation and supporting legal memoranda on wide range of issues and topics for Council Members, including legislation related to health care, COVID-19, policing and racial justice, good governance, transportation and infrastructure, and affordable housing. Advised Council Members and flagged policy concerns regarding Local Law proposals. Conducted legal research and maintained familiarity with New York City municipal codes, New York State codes and case law, and federal Constitutional doctrine and case law.
