I am a private educator for English as a Foreign Language Learners. I manage my students progress,create my own lessons and content for each student, and ensure quality education for more than 20 different students privately. Each class is differentiated for my students specific needs and uses current day education strategies focused on 21st century skills and growth mindset strategies. The ages of my students range from preschool infants, 3 year olds, all the way up to upper elementary 4th graders.In my need to expand education beyond the classroom, I began creating my own classes and curriculum to change my students expectations of what English learning can be like. Art classes, travel, board games, museum trips, are just to name a few. All the content and material for my Active English classes are designed by me.My key responsibilites are teaching, educational content creation, recruitment, and advertising my own services. My work is in a foreign country so a majority of my scheduling and interactions are with non native English speakers. Communication, patience, and cultural understanding are key in this environment.

An event coordinator for Taiwana, an organization that hosts ultimate frisbee events in and around the city of Kaohsiung. In 2023 we hosted Tinywana and Taiwana Beach 2023, two bilingual friendly (English and Traditional Mandarin) tournaments that brought together players from all across the country as well as internationally. Organizational duties for our tournaments include recruitment and advertisement to propsective players, handling payment fees, coordinating with local venues for celebrations and field spaces, equipment and logo creation.Organizing large scale tournaments require a lot of work. An average week of work for me included scheduling meetings with organizers with vastly different work weeks, collaborating and communicating with teammates and businesses to create a quality event, tracking budget projections and expenses. Managing excpectations, task management, and coordinating our teams workflow were important parts of my work. My teammates and I all work very differently so creating task flows that utilized each of our strengths was an important challenge!

I was a homeroom generalist ELL teacher for pre elementary classes and elementary classes . I taught students a variety of topics each day, lead them through social emotional exercises, assessed their learning, and differentiated their education to allow them to achieve greatness. In my homeroom classes, I worked alongside a native language teacher to build the best curriculum for the students and to bridge any cultural gaps. Each year I was given a class that needed a strong teacher to educate them, either because their was a lot of need for differentiation or the sheer size of the classroom.During my time as this postion, I began to delve into educational content creation. I created comprehensive lesson plans for students with focus on differentiating for the needs of ELL students. I lead several workshops for the staff at our school on a variety of topics. When our Science and Phonics content needed to be redesigned, I created my own content, and worked alongside the principal to redesign our materials to better suit the needs of our staff and students.At this position my day would include teaching students, creating lesson plans, communicating with staff, and redesigning our schools educational content.

I was the English teacher for Korean students at an English Language Center. I taught 30 different classes ranging with students from K3 to High School. I worked hard to create a comfortable learning environment with differentiated strategies for my students. With each class and student I made sure to create an exchange of cultural ideas. I had to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of many different age groups in one day. I built fruitful and encouraging connections with my students, motivated their language learning, and became a positive source of education influence in their lives.At this position, I learned how to educate and connect with a wide range of ages. My days would begin with planning my lessons, teaching younger aged students at the beginning of the day, and transitioning to older students as the day went on. I assisted the Korean teachers with strategies to improve student learning and the school with educating students at home. I was the only English Language Teacher at the school and taught 30 different classes.

I was a registration specialist helping incoming student complete the registration process at Sam Houston State University. My specialty was in the Texas Success Initiative, a placement examination for incoming students but I would assist the students, faculty, and other organizations with many different aspects of Registrars office. My daily responsibilities involved data analytics, working on projects with my co workers, attending meetings, and communicating with different departments and students.At this position, I learned how to best aid students get prepared for higher education and began to interact with a lot of international students as they had to take the TSI tests to show they were college ready. I learned how to communicate with frustrated customers, make them feel like they were being heard, and problem solve quickly and effectively. I helped my co workers with registration week, graduation ceremonies, incoming freshman recruiting events, and many more. I started teaching small English readiness courses to international students who were struggling with courses.
