I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, but discovered that I was more suited to applying my degree in a business setting rather than in a classroom.I’ve recently relocated from Columbia, Missouri where I was employed with Scholastic, Inc. in Jefferson City as a Supervisor of Operations and then as a Transportation Planning Manager. During my eight years at Scholastic, I found that I had a real passion for developing team members into future leaders, and thrived on finding unique and efficient ways to problem solve, as well as creating and developing procedures to streamline and improve processes and productivity. I had many opportunities to exercise and grow my skill-set at Scholastic. As a Supervisor of Operations, I helped develop processes for automated robotic storage systems, which improved speed and accuracy of fulfilling orders. I assisted in the development of Standard Operating Procedures for the department as a whole. I supervised a large department where I coached and mentored multiple employees into leadership roles.In my role as Transportation Planning Manager, I received Project Management training and helped oversee the Final Mile White Glove Process, which is the delivery of high-value and high-volume products to school districts domestically and internationally. I also assisted in the development of new and efficient tools to streamline daily processes.I would describe my working style as pro-active and goal-oriented, with a drive to coach and develop others. I enjoy working in a team setting and taking the lead to accomplish set goals efficiently, punctually, and above expectations.
