Christopher Pippin is currently a Life Support Engineer at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). He works to procure, engineer, maintain, and supply respiratory protection equipment such as emergency breathing apparatuses and self-contained protective ensembles (SCAPE) suits to guarantee every worker at Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station returns home safely each day. Working in the aerospace field has given him a strong appreciation for assuring a safe working environment. Therefore, he has dedicated himself to upholding the pillars of both the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH).Pippin graduated with a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelors degree in Chinese dual from the University of Florida. His breadth of engineering knowledge was expanded by University of Florida organizations, such as the innovative Liquid Propulsion Design Team and the charitable Empowered Prosthetics. At the University of Florida, Pippin achieved his SolidWorks certification and was named on the Dean’s List every year of his academic career. Inspired to apply his versatile background to modern challenges, Pippin found a home in the aerospace industry. In 2017, he interned as a government contractor under Innovate Professional Solutions. There, he coordinated with Naval Sea Systems Command and directed a new testing process for mine neutralization systems. In 2018, he contributed his talent to the United Launch Alliance by interning with the Engineering and Infrastructure team, ensuring efficiency of the facilities that help guarantee 100% rocket launch success for over a decade. In 2019, he joined United Launch Alliance full time as a systems test engineer for the Delta and Atlas rocket programs. There, Pippin honed his troubleshooting and problem solving skills to assist with booster, pneumatics, and propellant systems verifications.Pippin believes maintaining integrity, responsibility, and passion are the three keys to a fruitful life. Therefore, Pippin understands being a good person is more important than being a good engineer. Outside of engineering, Pippin indulges in the performing arts and studies Chinese culture. He firmly believes maintaining an open mind offers humanity a lot of fulfillment and contributes to creativity in the corporate world.
