Christopher Poe is Veteran Small Business Owner, Infantryman, Battle Staff NCO, Master Resilience Trainer and Drill Instructor with 28 years of service in the U.S. Army. Since 1990, his deployments included combat, humanitarian and peacekeeping operations in Cuba, Kuwait, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Iraq. Chris has also deployed as a combat technology trainer and subject matter expert to Iraq, Afghanistan and E. Africa. In 2009 as a Drill Instructor, Chris was selected to attend the newly developed Master Resilience Trainer course offered by the U.S. Army and the University of Pennsylvania. His perspectives and training implementation drove a rise in trainee strategies, team development, performance success and sparked initiatives to further the instruction to peers and command.His personal story of resilience gives audiences a unique perspective into the contrasts between combat soldier and family. Chris’ experience and training ability has led to specialized work. Since 2012, he has been working with a team of professionals including former Prisoner of War and Brigadier General Rhonda Cornum, delivering Resilience skills to a wide range of audiences. In 2012, the U.S. Air Force deployed Master Resilience Training as part of their Comprehensive Airman Fitness initiative. Chris continues to be a lead member of that training team and to date he has introduced more than 5000 members of the USAF to resilience-based skills. Since 2014, Chris has made more than 15 trips to South Australia where he has been a lead Resilience Instructor and Resilience keynote speaker for more than 1000 community professionals and leaders working in a range of disciplines from Aging and Childhood Education to Community Health, Corrections, Law Enforcement, Military and Commercial Business. Chris is a recipient of the Combat Infantryman's Badge for service under fire in Iraq from 2004-2005. He is married, has four children, resides in rural Massachusetts and is an avid history lover.
