Review the entire HSE Management Plan for the site. Review, inspect and inventory all the types of monitoring equipment to be used and review the calibration, use and documentation requirements. Review and/or order HSE equipment as required. Review/recommend resource(s), personal protective equipment (PPE) and expendable supplies needed to ensure the safety and health of team members, the public and/or the environment.

Working as Project HSSE Manager for the BAPCO modernization program under TTSJV and Worley Parsons the project is a combination of Greenfield and Brownfield development under 3 distinct projects. Project 1 BMP TCF – temporary construction facilities – comprising prefabricated and modular buildings, furniture’s etc., utilities, temporary roads, laydown areas, yards, gates, fences and access control systems. Project 2- BMP Civil 1,2 & 3 – civil works and underground services – mass excavation, ground works, temporary works, pipe racks, storage tanks etc. Project 3 – Civil 4 & 5 – underground utilities, structures in highly contaminated areas.Duties: Sr HSSE Manager for all projects running simultaneously. Ensuring client and principle contractor requirements are met and specific alignment and improvement programs run continually. Management of all HSSE related matters including but not limited to; Safety - establishment of all documentation, procedures and processes, adhering to client requirements, inspections, and audits. Security - establish procedures, enable gate pass application for greenfield and brownfield areas, security checks, site routing and general security for storage and office areas. Health - prestart medical screening, health checks routine, water sampling, air and NOX monitoring, pitch and contaminates control, heat stress monitoring, welfare and camp inspection / improvement programs. Environmental - waste management systems, recycling, hazardous material controls and green leadership promoting reuse schemes throughout site including concrete reuse for barriers, water recycling etc.

Recruited to take over the P011 roads and infrastructure project during a difficult phase after several fatalities and stagnation in the HSE operation and performance on site. Duties: Gain control of the site HSE systems and bring about change raising safety culture within all staff and managers. A back to basics system employed starting with control procedures (permits) and safe systems of work. Asphalt laying, excavation and confined space systems were totally overhauled and control systems established. Raising training standards within the propject, and specific training on high risk activities, prior to work. Enforcement, via penalty (monetary and disciplinary) embedded in the HSE plan and actioned. WCC control measures established and implemented with visual mapping for all activities and hierarchy of risk per operation established. GIS employed as a management tool, tracking site conditions and creating a platform for live reporting and close out of non conformity items, lessening lead times for close out. Achievements: Ashghal adopted the asphalt safety map systems created and incorporated them into all of their live projects. WCC control measures were witnessed by KBR, Parsons and CH2M and incorporated into P015, P027 and all orbital projects, with master classes provided by CHEC safety team. Control was gained over the project within a very short time frame enabling a rewards program to be implemented and continual success for the remainder of the project resulting in over 3million man-hour’s without LTI to be achieved.Leaving due to end of project.
