Built a new forecasting/valuation model, helped implement an ERP system and reduced operating expenses, which drove a 20% improvement in earnings. The additional value generated from these initiatives, along with an acquisition layer on, helped potential strategic buyers realize the value in acquiring the business.

A $14.0B U.S food producer, Land O’Lakes is one of the nation’s largest co-op’s offering a wide range of grocery staples. The role led the corporate finance group within a stand-alone line-of-business that generated $750M of revenue annually. The finance team was heavily involved in the accounting month-end close process whereby the group prepared financial statements and key unit level operating metrics to ensure results aligned with forecasted expectations. Performed diligence activities and secured $100M of financing from a consortium of banks to close an acquisition that provided $200M of layer-on revenue. Worked with the CFO to stress test revenue and earnings forecasts against different commodity input price and cost assumptions and mentored analysts with varying levels of experience.

Tasked with creating economic analyses, which incorporated permitting values for residential and commercial construction projects. Market data supported new store and store closure decisions along with data that allowed the team to reallocate the sales force more appropriately. Supported direct and indirect sourcing with financial modeling and built an inventory model that tracked demand so that commodity buyers could better understand demand gaps and analyze potential forward bulk purchases. Analyzed accounts payable activity to identify overpayment that led to a correction of internal controls.
