For this small federal contractor I am currently an Enterprise Architect for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). I provide business, architecture and technical support to programs across VA, with a focus on model driven architecture supporting strategic enterprise service architecture, service portfolio management, and cross-domain solution planning. Our efforts require extensive communication, coordination and collaboration with VA Business lines and all organizations within OI&T. I am the lead in support of Benefits, Memorials, Customer Data, Health Enrollment, and Customer Relationship domains. Contribute to methodology work groups for the VA Service Portfolio Management approach, tooling, and style. Over my long tenure here I have increasing contributed to corporate process definition, planning and execution, in addition to my technical support of business development. Before my VA tenure I was heavily engaged in DoD/VA healthcare IT interoperability and continued to support Defense Logistics efforts. I also authored their Software Development Lifecycle Process. We developed a commercial next-generation CPS IP Health Information Exchange technology leveraging our experience with the government.I was the primary architect, developer, and subject matter expert for DoD and VA interagency sharing of medical imagery. Under joint funding we developed a prototype/pilot and implemented the first successful interagency image sharing solution. I continued to support this solution though sustainment and worked on a number of projects for DoD and VA to evolve their solution.

Supporting analysis and modeling of business and software architecture models for National Geospacial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) Maritime Safety Office (MSO) Notice to Mariners (NtM) solution. Developing information models for maritime environment, chart feature, Hydrographic Office publications, and chart maintenance activity.

Developed a windows/web service to image enable the Integration Clinical Database 2 (ICDB) with referential quality radiological image files, and developed a web-based DICOM image viewer application. Developed automated services for transferring medical DICOM from local ICDB installations to a centralized Air Force COHORT system using data-chunking and lossless compression to handle the asynchronous transmission of large binary data files with healthcare levels of quality assurance.

Architect and lead developer of the Defense Table of Official Distances (DTOD) system redevelopment effort to technology refresh the system, implement centralized policy enforcement, and provide official distance calculations for DoD-wide use. Developed and deployed DTOD authoritative services and supported strategic migration plans for interfacing systems; Global Freight Management (GFM), Defense Personal Property System (DPS), and Defense Travel System (DTS). Implemented custom logging and stress testing framework to simulate the DoD usage profile through key scenarios to enable automated regression testing of the commercial COTS mapping product’s annual release.

Developed various web applications for the Defense Energy Supply Center (DESC) relating to fuel supply management. Provided requirements and system analysis and conceptual design for a Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) resource supply management system that provides critical decision support to DLA inventory management with respect to joint war plan resource requirements.

I provided system engineering support to local law firms, developed various web and internal applications for the law firms, and developed a web application for a local photography company.
