Completed 730+ clinical hours as a Student Nurse at the University of Miami. I had the privilege of completing my clinical hours in a variety of settings in some of the top healthcare institutions in the area including Ryder Trauma Center, Jackson Memorial Hospital, University of Miami Hospital, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, and Palmetto General Hospital. I cared for a variety of patient populations from Neonatal to Adults with rich and diverse cultural backgrounds. Pathologies of these patients ranged from Renal, Cardio and Neuro to Endocrine and Trauma. With the help of my clinical instructors as well as the nursing staff I was able to gain valuable hands-on experience in PO, SQ, IM, and IV medication administration, care of patients with PEG/PEJ tubes, chest tubes, colostomy/ileostomy care, and wound care. These experiences, among others, served to solidify concepts learned in the didactic portions of my studies and have provided me with a solid foundation on which I intend to build on as I transition from student to healthcare professional.

Functioned as a facilitator within the clinic. Responsibilities included the preparation,application, and removal of different therapeutic modalities such as hot/cold packs, andelectrical stimulation (TENS). Teaching and supervising patients through different rehabilitationexercises, and assisting patients in setting up exercise equipment, use of dumbbells, and therabands. Transcribed patient information in flow charts. Was responsible for washing, drying, folding and stocking linens on a daily basis. Maintained a high standard of sanitation in the clinic by ensuring clean tables in between patient use, cleaning of the exercise equipment in between use and assisting with the overall tidiness of the clinic.
