I was extremely fortunate to direct the fundraising efforts of Community Outreach Inc. COI has an amazing 45 year plus track record of serving people in need throughout the mid-Willamette Valley. At COI I focused on creating long lasting relationships between our community and the organization. I oversaw the agency’s grant writing efforts, statistics, volunteers, fundraising events, website, social media presence, liaison with the media, and led our annual donor solicitation efforts. These tasks were coordinated with the agency’s leadership, including the Board of Directors, in an effort to raise the necessary funding that supported COI’s mission of helping people to help themselves lead healthy and productive lives.

NeighborImpact is a Community Action Agency located in Central Oregon that provides services to people experiencing poverty in Crook, Deschutes and Jefferson County. I directed external agency communications, collaborated with local media outlets (TV, radio, news print), represented the agency at community forums, and implemented the agency’s signature fundraising event. During my tenure I also worked with the Board of Directors to update the agency’s mission and vision statements, launched a new website, created collateral pieces (annual reports, newsletters, brochures), and integrated communication efforts across multiple electronic media platforms. Over the course of 2 years, I spearheaded the grant writing efforts of the agency securing $475,000 of grant funding. Lastly, I coordinated regular volunteer events which resulted in more than $95,000 in funding for the agency annually.

As a Unit Leader for AmeriCorps NCCC, I provided leadership to 80, 18-24 year olds in a national service program that yielded over 140,000 community service hours annually. I was regularly deployed to disaster areas (Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Ike, 2010 Nashville Floods) to help non-profits, community leaders, and elected officials aid communities as they began disaster recovery efforts. I collaborated with staff throughout the country to improve trainings, update safety standards, coordinate team deployments, and implement strategic initiatives that supported the needs of our stakeholders and the mission of the Corporation for National and Community Service.

While an Account Manager at TruGreen Land Care I managed the largest sales region in our branch totaling more than $1 million dollars in annual revenue. I mentored fellow salespeople in areas of technical knowledge, interpersonal skills, and client negotiation techniques. I trained and supervised branch employees in pesticide usage, horticultural techniques, and safety skills. Lastly, I performed standard human resource activities including employee recruitment, interviews, promotion, and termination.

As a Client Representative at one of the top ten independently owned landscape companies in the country, I managed multi-family commercial landscape accounts, creating sales in excess of $2.2 million dollars annually. My daily activities included supervising 20 employees and multiple subcontractors in order to provide the highest quality landscape services to over 1,200 clients. To do this, I regularly updated residents, property managers, and homeowner’s associations regarding property conditions. During the winter months I also managed $1.3 million dollars in annual snow plow contracts, and implemented an agency wide reporting system I created, that merged snow plow billing, crew member payment, and corporate profit analysis.
