About Christopher Cheney
I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at UC Santa Barbara interested in medical technologies, soft bio-inspired robotics and rehabilitation engineering. I am currently working in the Dynamic Robotics Laboratory with Professor Katie Byl where I am researching optimal control techniques for exoskeletons and walking gait biomechanics. I am a recent graduate of UC Santa Cruz where I studied bioengineering (biomechanics) and electrical engineering with significant coursework in computer engineering. As a researcher at Professor Teodorescu's DANSER Lab, I focused on creating more durable and adaptable prosthetics to help others. My goal is to gain as much hands on and research experience as possible.
