I established and built the UK tax department to provide fully functional (compliance and advisory) support to the UK, European and Asian businesses.With the growing needs of the business, I supported the creation of a tax team in Asia and helped further develop the UK team, allowing me to focus on oversight of the UK, European and Asian compliance functions.I was most recently responsible for oversight and management of the UK and European Corporate Tax and VAT processes across multiple entities and jurisdictions, review of permanent establishment risks and Group UK SDRT compliance. I established the in-house UK RDEC process and successfully managed this to obtain several millions of UK RDEC credit over a number of years.I arranged and established the UK Senior Accounting Officer governance process including establishment of an effective tax-control framework.I was actively involved in the Group's Transfer Pricing processes and was responsible for advisor-led production of Local and Master files.I have spent extensive time looking at SDRT, FTTs and other transactional taxes, as well as withholding taxes and issues of beneficial ownership.I also have experience of FATCA and CRS documentation and reporting.To me, the breadth of impact tax can have across a company is one of the most interesting aspects along with the variety of challenges it throws up, from considering the tax impact of a single trade or transaction, to planning the allocation of group profits, the opportunity to learn something new and build on existing experience is always tremendously interesting and keeps me engaged by tax day-by-day.

Began in 2006 as a Tax Analyst, before progressing to manage the Market Dividends team in 2008.In 2010, I took on a more projects based role reviewing the system developments for the Market Dividends team, while still maintaining active involvement as an SME within the Dividends team.Since September 2012, I have moved back to the Operational Tax world, managing the team I originally joined in 2006.
