Strix (USA), Inc is a consumer products division within Strix PLC, a global leader in water filtration and kettle controls. Our primary focus is on bringing innovative technology and design-focused water bottles to consumers around the world. We provide on-the-go and at-home solutions for chemical (mercury, lead, etc.) and bacteriological contamination that combines sleek aesthetics with best-in-class certifications. • Responsible for global product development, technology scouting, innovation and manufacturing process development. Managing teams based in the US, UK and China.

• Built and drove the commercialization strategy for multiple new drinking water filtration products, the first of which was called astreaONE. This is the first filtering water bottle to reduce all forms of lead to safe levels.• Oversaw product lifecycle with direct leadership of global supply chain, quality assurance/quality control, product development, process development, and manufacturing teams in 4 countries (Italy, US, China, India).• Launched the only water bottle certified to reduce lead to safe levels. Shipped product from concept to shelf in less than 12 months with highest quality and regulatory standards.• Designed and implemented manufacturing processes, guided scale-up, and facilitated technology transfer to two facilities that met all quality and health standards.• Launched low-cost, high-performance water bottle that removes bacteria and other pathogens from drinking water in India that allows people to have safe drinking water from any source. • Reviewed and assessed new engineering plans for technical viability, intellectual property, and marketability.• Translated technical concepts and presented innovations to key stakeholders to procure funding and get senior management buy-in.

• Hired in as a Lead Process Engineer and then was transitioned within eight months to a senior manager role leading global product development of innovation for purification and remediation of drinking water. This involved leading multiple development and operations projects concurrently aimed at both near term (6-12 month) and long term (12-24 month) impact.• Built and managed a cross-functional, international team (US, China, & India) of Design Engineers, Scientists, and Process Engineers.• Team designed and launched two new in-line water disinfection cartridges; one was used for household R/O and the second one was for commercial water fountains and dispensers.• Led technology scouting efforts with universities, start-up enterprises, and established companies to stay up to date on technology advances and licensing opportunities. From these efforts was able to build a database of competitive intelligence to design better products.• Supported sales team through customer training/education efforts.

• Oversaw all scientific research and engineering for the production of flexible plastic consumer products. This involved leading development of product design, optimization of manufacturing processes, cost efficiency and quality of raw materials. • Formulated a line of boat fenders and buoys using bio-based ingredients including non-phthalates, bio-resins, and stabilizers.• Designed solution for Orion Space Capsule recovery from water using generated test data, modeling, and field tests. Proposal was accepted by NASA and they placed a substantial order for the product.• Implemented quality control / root cause analysis for manufacturing processes to reduce waste and improve product strength.

• Lead scientist for medical device/pharmaceutical company. Formulated and delivered new dermatology, surgical and wound treatment, dermatology, oral healthcare, and nasal care products. • Built full scale manufacturing including reactors, bottling and filling product lines for finished goods.• Managed process and analytical method validations, CAPA, Root Cause analysis, QA/QC support. • Wrote case studies in support of CMC, NDA, IND and 510(k) regulatory submissions for FDA approvals.
