Technical Design Authority on a £20 million pound Hybrid (SDDC) Datacentre build and Migration programme, from start to finish. Responsible for the alignment of strategy to execution within KPMG LLP UK, Solutions and Digital. This included the evaluation, selection and prioritization of projects, programme and operations management to best support the strategy and maximize investment. The aim was to build the best in-class automated Hybrid Cloud “Software Defined Datacentre” aligning to KPMG business goals and objectives, the environment had to be able to support all pre-existing highly secure PaaS and SaaS solutions generating well over 300 million in revenue for the business. All highly secure client facing revenue generating IT solutions were migrated to this platform.This involved gathering requirements to form a requirements catalogue that was the bases for third party providers to tender and deliver against. The platform had to be able to host up to official data classification “Secret”. The platform aligned to all the best security standards such as; ISO27001, Cyber Essentials, NIST CSC20 framework and an amalgamated set of top financial organizations security requirements. The Platform was built to host sensitive data for the majority of all tier 1 banks and KPMG eDiscovery Forensic clients data.Member of the programme governance board providing the technical direction and management of all technical resources, internal and external. Approver of all HLD and DLD designs. The solution was delivered by multiple providers, ComputaCenter, Alternative Networks, ATOS and internal KPMG. Programme goals were; decrease time-to-market, decrease complexity, increased cost transparency and overall de-risk within Service Delivery & Infrastructure. Ultimately enabling the ability to deliver revenue generating services faster, safer and at a lower cost.

Hands on Technical Architect focused on delivery solutions for the highly secure forensic data (eDiscovery) environment. Performed a technical review of all data workflows, Infrastructure components and business applications. Proposed and implemented a range of changes to optimize the estate, for example; Changing the way storage was utilized, amending business processes for data processing, network redesign and Backup platform redesign. Introduced a new way of using storage technology to provide business value to a key business application (NUIX). Resulting in a dramatic reduction to a risk of data loss, whilst increasing productivity due to achieving higher throughput's and removing unnecessary data movement.

Projects – Communisis Plc August 2010 – March 2011 - VOIP Rollout - Tech LeadDeployment of a new VOIP telephony system to 8 locations, using the Splicecom Maximiser. This involved choosing the system and designing the strategy for deployment. October 2008 – August 2009 - Datacentre Migration - Tech LeadCompleted a high profile project as technical lead to virtualize the outdated infrastructure. The aim of the project was to migrate from our old datacenter in to two new tier four datacenters with SunGard, utilising virtualisation. This involved selecting hardware, software providers and technologies. The underlying hardware used was HP C7000 blades and EVA 8100 SAN’s with VMware ESX. VMware Site Recovery Manager was configured across both locations to provide fast disaster recovery. Commvault Simpana backup software was redesigned to utilise VMware VCB to backup the virtual environment and to provide data staging.

Key Project - Active Directory Migration September 2006 – August 2007A key member of the Active Directory project team. The objective of the project was to merge all business units from various platforms into a new Active Directory / Exchange 2003 infrastructure. This covered 1100 users and 4 different businesses within the Communisis Group. Quest migration tools were used to migrate both system and user accounts.
