· Worked as the only mechanical engineer in a group of seven people to design and construct a new $120 million R&D testing facility for the testing of oil and gas well drilling equipment· Project manager for the design of a $1.2 million downhole motor dyno, its control software, and its integration into the testing facility, which required working with 16 internal groups and the construction contractor to complete the design and construction· Wrote the design specifications for the facility and the software controlling the equipment in the facility· Designed several Simulink models of the equipment and systems in the facility so that the interactions between systems could be better understood, along with calculating the dynamic forces that would be placed on the equipment during testing · Designed and stress tested the facility’s high and low pressure piping and supports to ASME specifications

· Coordinated and supervised twenty-six 1-2 week long trips to an outside drilling test facility where over 50 new downhole and surface drilling tools were tested in a true drilling environment· Designed a fully automated system that controlled and logged the temperature of drill bit cutter acid leaching baths from a previously manually controlled process, which greatly increased the quality and repeatability of the process along with reducing the man power required to oversee the process· Maintained, improved, and found innovative ways to repurpose existing lab equipment designed to test downhole tools and drill bits · After taking over the managing of a 3D printer, instituted a program that opened the printer up to other groups within the company, thereby increasing its usage from 6% to 100% with a five week backlog, and greatly reducing the overhead cost of the printer for our group· Created Matlab programs that would efficiently process and filter data collected during field and lab testing
