• Preparation of the monthly management accounts for the two captive insurance companies that form part of the 1st Central group.• Providing detailed commentary and appropriate supporting analysis to explain variations from budget on all technical balances.• Working with external Solvency II consultants to support individual entity and group solvency calculations and transitioning Solvency II processes into business as usual reporting.• Liaising with Gibraltar and Guernsey regulatory accounting consultants to ensure individual entities are able to meet regulatory reporting requirements and providing support to answer ad-hoc queries from regulatory bodies.• Delivering general process improvements throughout the accounting function to streamline the month-end close and enhance control process to enable the business to better manage its risks.• Collaborating with the actuarial team to develop better knowledge and understanding of the IBNR reserving process, challenging assumptions that have been made and cascading knowledge to the finance team.• Enhancing technical models which fall under the finance remit to enhance accuracy and reliability of provisions within the accounts.

• Responsible for the production of the monthly financial reporting package sent to our parent company containing a full Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss detailed analysis, prepared on a US GAAP and IFRS basis.• Handled the reporting of all claims in excess of USD 500k to our parent company and reinsurers.• Solely responsible for entering and maintaining the correct reserves in our ledger with regards to ceded claims and recoverable balances.• Maintained our SUN general ledger in accordance with company policies, responsible for user administration, account amendments and set up / control of account analysis fields.• Handled month-end system close for in-house Policy Administration System including maintaining relationships with various internal stakeholders to ensure close handled in a smooth and efficient manner.• Improved several systems and processes ensuring better quality data, within tighter deadlines.• Assisted other finance team members with production of monthly Management Accounting package, solely responsible for all claims data contained within.• Responsible for posting, analysing and reporting on GBP 100m of investments held in multiple currencies including detailed FX analysis.• Developed thorough knowledge of data/sources and systems, acted as the "go to" person for data queries within the Financial Reporting team.
