At St. Clair, I have the incredible opportunity to blend two of my favourite passions- social work and education- by teaching students who are planning on entering the geriatric care and social support workforce. In my classes, I discuss national healthcare systems, long term care in Canada, pensions, death and bereavement, standards of care, planning for retirement, the sociology of again in a world context, cultural competency, and many other fascinating areas of social support work. Teaching over 400 students per week, I always promote a safe, educational, and supportive learning environment.

I helped residents and families transition smoothly to long-term care in later stages of life by working closely with local health networks. In this role, I also used my counselling abilities to help residents and families by listening and offering support. I really enjoyed getting to meet new potential residents in this role, and providing tours to guests. This position helped me utilize a large portion of skillset: counselling, administration, compassion, and leadership.

At Maugerville Baptist, I served as the Ministry Coordinator. This role mainly inhabited a high-involvement with our church's seniors population; hosting our weekly discussion group, home/hospital visitation, and connecting with those in the community. My duties also included designing the weekly newsletter/bulletin, light maintenance of the church, fundraising for a farm project/garden project, and influencing the youth of the church. During the COVID pandemic, I developed an online chat group for the seniors of the congregation to keep in contact with each other to stay connected and prevent isolation.

At Kingsclear Consolidated School, I had the privilege of assisting with the curriculum development and implementation in the Kindergarten classroom. This included language development, mathematical skills, problem solving, conflict resolution, music and art expression, and physical education.

At York Care Centre, I was in charge of leading and implementing daily activities for senior clients living Alzheimer's, Dementia, Down's Syndrome, and Parkinson's. This included physical, mental, social, and spiritual health events/activities. I also supervised two volunteers and an assistant staff member. The program tripled in size from when I started, growing from 4 clients to 12.

When I was a student at St. Thomas, I was regularly involved with film production for class. I did most of my stories as a VJ, meaning I did them entirely on my own. I shot, recorded, edited, hosted, and wrote every television and radio piece that I did for class. In the winter of 2017, I filmed a documentary on Christ Church Cathedral in Fredericton. After viewing my documentary, the cathedral asked my permission to use my doc on their YouTube channel.

In my last year at St. Thomas, I served as the school paper's Head Sports Photographer. This mainly consisted of soccer, basketball, and the occasional volleyball game. If you Google "Aquinian Chris Robinson" my photos will come up as image results.

At the Rural Social Justice Research Centre in Fredericton, I studied and wrote about the local food economy in the Fredericton, New Brunswick region. This included deforestation, climate change, food sustainability, organic procedures, and the challenges of local farmers. The position was through a grant given by the Government of Canada to Dr. Susan Machum, who hired me for the job. I did the stories on organic and non-organic farmers, food producers, and gardeners. I met a lot of hard working people in my job, and wrote my experiences/interviews in the form of feature stories.
